My guess would be “as long as they are covered” and that any that can’t be covered don’t cover a huge area and are (obviously) non-offensive.

Just out of curiosity, how long did you wait from finding out you're in the talent pool, to hearing about a medical and start date?Passed my medical in Cardiff today
The nurse said she had a day full day of rail medicals, was anyone else there today?
Should be all set for course starting 28th Feb, anyone else on the same one?

I managed to get it in a couple of hours before it closed. Was going to wait to get back home before sending it off. I'm glad I did submit it when I did!

Got the news I passed my DMI last week so am in the talent pool! .
For anyone that's just applied, I recommend spending some time on these forums, there's a lot of info but well worth the time to help you prep for the assesments and interviews.

I have been a long time observer on this forum and have recently passed the application process for TFW trainee driver. I have been given a 80 page handout for the next stage that includes all the assessments and there’s quite a lot!! So I am bracing myself !!
The assessments are in 2 weeks time and the email I have received states the process will time around 4 hours. I have started practicing the group Bourdon test and I am typically averaging around 8-9 rows with the odd 1 omission, in general I’m improving the more I do it but I am conscious that after a while the practicing does become counter productive, so it’s a balance I guess. I’m aiming to do an hour or two each evening practicing for the assessments.
Some of the tests, the tone one I seem to find hard. Now I’m not sure it’s because it’s the sample I’m using to practice (traineetraindriverinfo) or whether it’s just me trying to keep count of the beeps which seem to have the same low tones but of varying durations.
I do have a question about the photograph/memory recall. I know you are shown an image for a couple of seconds and then have to indicate which items from a list were present. Are you given sight of the list before the photo? If you only identify 3 correct items when there were 4 do you fail the entire question ?
I would gladly welcome any help and advice that anyone can offer. Thanks

Best bet is not to stress yourself out too much overthinking it.
Bourdon test is impossible to finish in the time they give you, so just get as far as you can as accurately as you can.
Same with the photo/memory test, you’ll be given a list & each time is the same items you’re looking for. One omission isn’t going to end your day!
I genuinely left my paper tests thinking about what career I could do next , until I got the email to say I had passed that is!

Congratulations!! Glad to hear you finally had your DMI! Fingers crossed for a course soon for both of us - I’ve been in the pool since September.
Don’t overpractice with the material you have been given either - otherwise you’ll just answer based on memory eventually and not using your skill to work out the correct answer. Do just enough so that you have a thorough understanding about what it is required on the day!

Just found out passed computer tests and interview, just waiting on a DMI date now.

Congratulations both! Research traction particularly future traction, company history etc.
Don't over think it, it'll drive you mad. I read through the material most days before the assessment but I'm not proud of this but I didn't print it out until a couple of days before, to practice properly. In the end I think that actually worked well for me, seeing as I passed the assessment, DMI and now "patiently" waiting in the talent pool haha! Weirdly I actually enjoyed the whole process of the assessment.
Best advice I can give, again, don't over think everything, try to relax when you're there, remember your answers the the 6 competency based questions, as you'll be asked ask questions in the MMI at the end of the day on them.

Make sure you are well prepared. Past and current work experience you think is relevent (you'll need some good examples for some questions), transferable skills etc and do some research on tfw, recent history and their plans for future

Alot of us had our paper tests Monday and Tuesday so would imagine they are busy with those as they said we would hear by the end of this week. So hopefully you hear something soon

Got my results from taking the paper test on Monday. Failed it, not that surprised. Pretty sure I messed up the first part of the tones assessment. Found other parts easier, though without any of the results on hand, that could be total rubbish.
Ultimately, I'm not downhearted. I’ve been given a date for a conductor interview, which was the first role I applied for and the one I was most interested in doing. I only applied to driver to see how far I could get. I was very surprised that I made it past shortlisting, given how many we were told applied.
Good luck to those who made it through and to those who failed, don’t give up, you’ll get there eventually!

Sorry, can't answer that. But how long were you in the talent pool before having a spot? I was recently asked for my preference on depot but haven't heard anything since.

My results took about a week to come back. Did the assessment on a Tuesday, found out I'd passed the following Monday.
