It may be worth asking if your getting tablets for course work also if your completing the recently introduced Train Driver Apprenticeships.
Good luck everyone
They have mentioned that we will be given devices of some sort also have been told that the college will be attending tomorrow

I think it's an nqv level 3 course, it may be different now its up and running.
The existing train drivers get nothing in the way of tablets or phones, so your getting spoilt lol
Enjoy

Hi
Take a look at the Comeonboard site
There is job spec for Qualified Driver at Holyhead on there if that’s the document you are after.

Tried attaching a link but says error…

I’ve just had an email stating my application has been unsuccessful, I must admit I’m pretty annoyed with the time it’s taken them to tell me this considering I applied over 18 months ago. I understand that there have been thousands of applicants but 18 months? Really? Poor show TFW.

Thanks

Signed up for the nvq level 3 yesterday and the tablets go back after the training period, but the union is in talks for us to keep the tablets
It doesn't make sense to hand them back, they would have to cleaned of all stored information etc tablets are that cheap you may aswell keep them.
Saying that tfw won't let drivers have tablets or phones, so it's a case of wait and see.

Me too! But at least it means that the next opportunity for you will be sooner.

They attach the practice materials via PDF to the confirmation of assessment day email—it’s fairly chunky and tells you everything to expect with a run through of the day. Handy to have even if practicing with the actual tests rather than what they give you will help a lot (group bourdon practice they give you is letters, whereas real thing is dots)

Thank you! Very nervous! :)
How did you find the 17th? do you find out on the day if you've passed or do you have to wait for the results?

It was paper tests, then computer, then MMI for me. I only did the MMI because I passed the computer tests; the paper still have to be marked as does the MMI in the next week or so. I’ll hear back then I suppose!

The TfW assessment people were lovely—really made effort to relax us all. Breaks after every test if needed. MMI was relaxed for me with a few questions prompting me to elaborate on my answers. It was a long day but not as bad as I thought it would be, and I can only keep my fingers crossed from now until they get back to me! I’m worried I didn’t say enough buzzwords during the MMI. But we’ll see I suppose!

It will probably be the case as they can't be giving drivers a method of communication, tfw don't give drivers a phone or tablet or email etc so drivers haven't a clue what's going on most of the time.

Hi, im hoping to get booked in soon for an assessment day, although the emails say 'paper tests only' , looking through the booklet they send out for assistance it mentions the MMI, is this included in the assessment day? I was thinking of prepping for it anyway.
I was also looking at the 'how2become' website for extra tests and break down on what is required, anyone used this before and recommend? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

MMI will not be included if it is paper tests only, MMI is usually completed after computer assessments. Can’t comment on how2become I use traineetraindriver which were pretty good for computer tests
