Transpennine trainee driver recruitment

Does anyone out there know if TP are going to be recruiting for trainee drivers anytime soon?

Seems a while since they dad.

They currently have a pool of successful applicants from the last lot of vacancies they had, not sure how many are left in it as I imagine a few have gone to Northern and possibly Arriva too.
There's been no word since though.

Loss of work, due to split in franchise their drivers will not be running the northern services for much longer.

I've just had an email from first group with a job listing for conductors/ trainee conductors in the north west.

I'm in the holding pool for the last driver recruitment, it expires on 7th Feb. I got on with my current TOC so in the unlikely event of receiving an offer I'd turn it down.

Surely these guys will be needed by whichever franchisee does ultimately run these routes??

Who told you that? Certainly no redundancies in the train crew grades being talked about.

Well considering Liverpool are looking to increase their compliment of drivers this year I find it very strange that redundancy is being bandied about
