Before the 185s replaced the remaining 175s with TPE, were Coradias ever used on the Pennine services either on North TP or South TP?

For a couple of years the 158s were always used on the Pennine routes, with the bias of the 175s being towards the Manchester Airport-Blackpool/Barrow/Windermere services.

Was a 175 ever seen on the other side of the Pennines or even a maroon 158 towards the Lakes and Blackpool?

At a guess I would say that 158s did stray towards Blackpool, but I don't think that 175s ever came to anywhere like Leeds or York.

The 175's never worked North TPE. Not cleared for a start.

TPX 158s have definately worked to Windermere. Not sure about Barrow though...

Likely to be Clearance Testing. If it's only done it once that it's likely it failed it.
