Hi all

I start as a trainee driver with TPE in a couple of weeks time. The company have said that the first 3 or 4 months of training will be based in Huddersfield. As I will be living in Liverpool when I start they have said they will put me up in accomodation in Huddersfield due to the distance.

Has anyone been 'put up in accomodation before' and if so what should I expect: Hotel, B&B, a room? Any meals included (worth a try)? Any advice would be appreciated.

I am currently employed with tpe and when I was in accommodated in Leeds and York they put us up in very nice hotels and I would expect the same for you. It included breakfast lunch and tea also we asked for gym membership which they paid for willingly. I think you will be well cared for, definitely enjoy it bud.

First as a company are good when it comes to that. I declined to stay down south if that was an option I would've made the jump. Best of luck

When I started as a trainee conducter we were put up in a wide range of decent hotels ranging from The Royal Station Hotel in York, The York Hilton and Weetwood Hall in Leeds to The Premier Inn in Derby. They were very generous with food allowences too....had some really posh nosh in some of them!

I checked today with HR for that very reason...also some other stuff. It seems that things have changed a little as the Huddersfield Accom has 'fallen through' for reasons outside of FTPE control.

You need to speak to HR for more specific details with respect to your own arrangements, however from what I gather....the accommodation is certainly going to be more comfortable than I have previously been used to....but then again it's not hard to beat a tent in the desert these days.....lol...
