Well, not quite...

But I have noticed that the TPE relief services that operate a few times a day on summer Saturdays and Sundays between Scarborough and York only are not listed:

- in the main TPE pocket timetable

- on the printed departure boards at Scarborough (station by station) for "York" departures.

They are, however, listed in TPE's pocket Scarborough-York only timetable.

Very strange.

That said, "hiding" it didn't prevent the 12.30 service I took a couple of Saturdays ago from being busy.

There were engineering works in the York area at the weekend where some TPE services were terminating at York, although I'm guessing this is a different situation?

Should York-Scarborough not have a half-hourly service all day Mon-Sat anyway?

Always seems to be a busy line when I've been on it.

In the summer, definitely, even if it is just a shuttle from York. I think the problem is just having single car 185s working it though.

142094: yes, there are some minor timetable alterations for engineering beyond York (the 1351 ex Scarborough yesterday went the "back" way to Huddersfield, avoiding Dewsbury).

I totally agree that the frequency of trains is nowhere near enough. I both used and met people off services in the last fortnight and the 3-car trains were all very busy, sometimes with passengers having to stand.

One terrible failing in the current timetable is that on Sundays, for some unfathomable reason, there is a 2 hour gap ex-Scarborough between 11.51 and 13.51. Needless to say the 13.51 service was packed to the gills.
