Hi,

I was hoping somebody here could help me with a few questions about a Manchester to Leeds season ticket.

Transpeninne Express offer an EarlyBird season ticket for journeys starting before 06:30 and returning 10:00-16:00 or after 18:30

Am I correct in making the following assumptions for a Manchester-Leeds Earlybird season ticket?
On a morning, the latest train to Leeds that I can take from Manchester Piccadilly is the 06:21 departure
On an evening, the earliest train to Manchester Piccadilly from Leeds is the 18:40 departure

Also, on the 19:08 departure from Leeds would it be permissible to change at Huddersfield for the 19:04 Northern service to Manchester Victoria?

There is an EarlyBird Plus ticket which upgrades the ticket to anytime use for a day, can this be purchased on the day of travel or does it need to be purchased in advance?

Many thanks

The ticket is not restricted to outward journeys starting before 0630, but instead it is restricted to anything arriving before 0730. In your case however, you are correct that the last departure you can use it on appears to be the 0621.

I don't know what you mean by the 1904, as there is no weekday departure for Manchester Vic at 1904 from either Leeds or Huddersfield. There is a 1908 from Leeds but that one goes via Halifax and Hebden Bridge.

There is no operator restriction if that is what you are wondering, so you may use Northern services where appropriate. If you change at Huddersfield, you are free to catch any service after the peak, even if it originated from Leeds during the restricted period.

As to the upgrade, you must purchase it prior to boarding, as it will not be available onboard. You don't have to purchase it in advance.

bb21,

Thanks for reply, I somehow mis-read the 18:04 from Huddersfield to Victoria as being 19:04, as I was thinking about changing at Huddersfield to go to Victoria but as this train doesn't exist then I won't be.
