I just wanted to get people on here's opinion on these systems and other one-rail guided bus systems like the Bombardier one - has anyone ridden one? Are they cheaper to install than regular two-rail LRT systems? How do they compare in efficiency and comfort?

The reason I post this here rather than the international forum is I'm wondering if the concept is suitable for use in British cities. There's a lot of talk in MK right now about guided transit systems which tends towards a PRT system here, and I put this forward as another alternative. Would it work in places like Liverpool and Bristol where LRT systems have failed to be built? Or in smaller cities like Preston and Northampton, or visually senstive ones where they could use their off-wire or off-rail capabilities like Brighton or Oxford?

Given that Bombardier have failed to sell any more GLT systems (Nancy/Caen) and IIRC Caen are planning to rip theirs up for proper light rail I don't think they will see UK use...

I think it was found to cost only a little less then a proper light rail scheme. but with only a fraction of the benefits and a lot more problems (ie the vehicles were causing ruts in the road as the wheels always passed over the same strip of road, needing many repairs.)
