Hi,

I was wondering whether anybody can offer me advice with booking a return trip on the Moscow-Vladivostok ("The Rossiya") service early next year.

I'm travelling by myself and plan to fly to/from Moscow.

Ideally, I would want to travel in a single berth, (1st class if cheap enough). I don't want to stop off anywhere in particular.

Who do I book this through? How much will it cost? And has anybody got any tips for such a long return journey?

Thanks!

Are you sure its wise to travel alone through Russia? That's a very long and tedious train ride, even by Australian standards, someone to talk to might keep you sane as well as having someone there to say "look at that!" etc.

Thanks for the help/links etc...

I think Russia is fairly safe- from what I can see I'm going to take the fast train there in 1st class (£800!) even that is sharing with another person. I'm going to return on the slow, local train (9 days to get back!) in 3rd class, only £122!!

Thats around £1000 for 2 weeks travelling across thousands upon thousands of miles!!
