I doubt it,but nobody is saying children are more at risk from trans people just that putting opposite sex people of any age together in sleeping areas has got to be a risk.

So by your logic putting two five year old children (a boy and a girl) in the same bedroom carries "risk"?

All biological men are potential rapists that is absolutely a fact, the same as they're potential serial killers.
All gay men are certainly potential child sex offenders but probably no more than straight men, Potential is the key word.

Why are we just limiting this to men then? Women abuse kids too so they are also potential serial killers or rapists (actually women who have been convinced of such things often get off easier than men who have too).

I think everybody is getting Steveman wrong, he's not saying trans people are more likely to be sex offenders, but that with this new guidance it's putting children more at risk however slight.

But if you are saying that it increases the risk then you are specifically say that trans people are more of a risk. There is no other way you can interpret it. Unless you are suggestion some people will "pretend" to be trans.

Are women not potential child sex offenders by the same logic? Certainly, women have been convicted of child sex offences against boys and girls.

It is "absolutely a fact" that all people called John are potential Nobel prize winners, potential Olympic gold medallists and potential criminals but that is a ridiculous, extreme and ignorant use of the phrase "absolutely a fact" and the word "potential" which deprives them of any real meaning.

It's nothing to do with trans or not trans it's the simple idea of putting opposite sex people together.
If girls normally have a woman sleeping with them and it's now going to be a person who was a man but is now identifying as a woman then yes of course the risk of something bad occurring must be slightly more likely.
If you're saying that a trans person has biologically changed sex then I disagree.

So you're saying that all men or women aren't potential sex offenders, which ones aren't then ?

Saying something multiple times does not make it true.
I'd love to see some evidence that supports what you are claiming.

And the question of why a transgender person not attracted to females would be a risk but a woman attracted to females wouldn't be a risk still hasn't been answered.

How can there be any evidence about the girl guides, the rules have only changed a few days ago.

Why must it be more likely?
Someone who was male, but is now identifying as female, is likely to want to identify as female because they are attracted to men, wouldn't you think?
And yes, I am aware that there are trans persons who are attracted to others of their identified gender.

So your argument is "there is no evidence but I know it's true", what you actually have is a hypothesis (which you're entitled to) which remains to be proved one way or the other. Until that happens it is not a fact.

but by the same token all men and women absolutely have the potential to absolutely do absolutely anything! This all seems to have got a little silly now.

Opposite sex perhaps, but same gender. It makes a difference.

If girls normally have a woman sleeping with them and it's now going to be a person who was a man but is now identifying as a woman then yes of course the risk of something bad occurring must be slightly more likely.
Why is it "of course"? As far as I can see that's not a logical conclusion to make at all. Why would someone who has a high chance of being severely uncomfortable with their genitals be more likely to put them to some nefarious use than someone else? If they're on hormones then their genitals may not even ahem... operate... as usual. And it's quite probable that a trans woman will be very aware that some people hold beliefs that they are some sort of sexual deviant, and thus be hyper aware of anything which could be misconstrued as inappropriate.

The only way I can see that you could see them to be more of a risk would be if you believe that predators are pretending to be transgender in order to gain access to children. The odds of this actually being the case is vanishingly small. Prejudice against trans people, especially women, is still painfully common. I find it very hard to believe that anyone would go to the lengths of changing their name, documents, coming out to family/friends, changing how they present themselves, and maybe even taking hormones, just in order to get access to children on the off-chance they could abuse their position without getting caught.

If you're saying that a trans person has biologically changed sex then I disagree.
Their chromosomal make up may not change, but in almost all other ways they will. Hormones and surgeries are powerful things.

Presumably John would like to prohibit gay men from sleeping in the same area as the boy scouts. Perhaps gay men should sleep in the girls' tent so they aren't tempted to commit any sexual crimes?

What about bisexual people? Do they have to sleep in their own tent?

Ones that are asexual. There are numerous examples of people who have no sex drive at all.

You only have to look at how popular railforums.co.uk is at 23:00 some evenings.
