For years, Rail crazy Singapore has always tries to bring up the topic on ASEAN Railway which connects every single Asia Nation (except Middle East's nation) but was always put down for unknown reason. This year the project finally started after 10 years of discussion to build this railway. Alright I have a few uncertainties.

1. They said they are building a high speed railway but they are just connecting missing portion with new tracks to old tracks as old as 50 years old.

2. Since it is high speed, there might be a chance only Malaysian, Chinese and Singaporean are able to afford it since most of the Asia country are still rather poor. I did not add in Japan and Korea since they will prefer to travel on plane than on a train

Only Malaysia and Singapore are paying the cost to connect the missing portion up and to run the "high speed railway".

So what do you think, will it work? You must remember that we are connecting new rail parts with ancient rail parts and some is still single track or no signalling system at all.
