Hello all,

Whilst at work today, I saw a tram on the back of a low loader heading through Southampton, coming from the Western Docks sort of way (or heading for the Eastern docks). I didn't manage to have a good look but it looked new.

Anyone know where it was off to or where it had come from?

Thanks,
Lewis.

Could be a new tram for the Midland Metro. They're being built in Spain and all due to enter service by April.

They look like this (although they may not have arrived in full colour):

That's certainly what it looked like but I'm sure I would've remembered that striking colour! It appeared to be in full livery, with some form of branding on the sides. But like I said, I didn't get a great look at it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I shall wait and see if anyone else has something to say.

Cheers.

Aren't Nottingham also currently taking deliveries of new trams? Could've been one of theirs maybe?

Croydon would be lime green, white and blue. More likely to be Nottingham which are a darker green and silver.

Most definitely wasn't a Croydon tram.

After taking a look at the Nottingham trams, it looks like the right colour and body style. So if they are taking deliveries then it is more than likely them.

Thank you everyone.

Croydon have added on to their Variotram order, but those won't be arriving for many months yet. If it was pink at all it'll be Birmingham. If it was silver/green it's for Nottingham. Short and yellow would be Manchester!

It wasn't an early delivery of a Crewe Tram-Train was it?
