Traksy broken?

Anyone know why this site doesn't work with iOS 9.3.5? Yet only works Android or Windows 10 fine...

Open Train Times works fine just not Traksy for some reason.

Try using Chrome if it's available for iOS?
I know safari does sometimes have problems displaying some webpages, traksy is quite complicated how it's maps are shown

Chrome and Safari just loads up the main page but you can't do anything with the site such as look up train times or use the maps indeed it's a chocolate fireguard if one existed in software terms...

I have tried updating my iOS but it insists that the latest version is installed which there is v9.3.5.

The latest iOS on both my iPhone and iPad is v12.1.1 - are you using an old device?

The current iOS version should be 12.1.1, so it may be that it will no longer work with 9.3.5. How old is the device?

Working fine for me. It’s currently 1 second behind the same map in work.

iPad mini !st Generation will cannot be updated to iOS10 and above which is why Traksy might be not loading properly. Your iPad is updated to the latest version it can use. However it runs on a 32 bit processor which Apple will no longer support, having moved to a 64 bit version. The updated apps have now to run on 64 bit programs not 32 bit ones. If you can go back to an earlier version of Traksy you might get it working again.

I have the same issue with Windows 8.1 on my phone, if I knew how to get a earlier version of Traksy then great but as they're websites not actual applications surely they should work regardless of browser?

After all if the Open Train Times maps can be used with no issues surely there is a issue with Traksy?

The websites working regardless of browser thing is just not true (anymore) with the advent of complex webapps. Most major ones will but it takes a lot of work to ensure consistency across browsers and a small developer may find that hard and/or time consuming.

The version of Safari that's included with it is prehistoric in web technology terms, and the features which minimise network usage and allow to work more like an installed app just don't work with it (or Windows mobile 8.1). OTT is older and was created in the first place with more basic technology, so it continues to support more dated browsers.

At the end of the day, Apple are the ones tying Safari updates to ios updates, whilst preventing anybody else from writing a browsing engine for ios. Android is far better in this respect, and because Chrome is a separate app Traksy continues to work with much older devices on this platform.

Because you are looking at a very similar browser. iOS 9 is old hat and even the Chrome browser that works with that is far from current.

Apple doesn't allow other browser makers to develop a full browser for ios. Chrome and the various other ones are really just a different interface wrapped around the built-in ios webview. That means they have support exactly the same features as Safari sadly

In other words - apart from cost - another good reason to avoid Apple products ?? You find yourself limited to what Apple will let you do, rather than what you want to do.
