Hi all

I have trainsimulator2013 on my laptop but I have a few queries.

I am getting bored of the Great Western mainline and East Coast mainline scenarios that come with it and I'm wondering where I can get free scenarios or trains to play on.

Also I am very amateur at the game and I am asking how to drive the trains properly and how to make custom scenarios?

what do you mean properly? As for the free scenario's i have no idea but am interested in finding a few uk scenarios.

UKTS is a good place to get add-ons. The new Steam Workshop also has a few things on offer with a simple method of downloading and installing them directly into the game to play (usually without needing a restart too)

I'd echo Trainfan344 regarding what you mean by "drive the trains properly". A good start would be not like this!

Custom scenarios are not something I can help you with I'm afraid

You release the brakes, put the Reverser into the direction of travel and slowly increase the throttle.

Sadly the original disk and case was accidentally thrown away within minutes of installing it (blame my mum). I don't have any manuel disk or cover.

Are there any addon torrents I could download>

I have downloaded some steam workshops and theyre free? But it says I need DLC. Whats that? The addons are super expensive!

A Google search for "Railworks User Guide" has come up with this as a top result (I am being kind and linking you to it but you could have quite easily found it yourself without much thought)

The scenarios are free indeed. DLC = Downloadable Content and you'll need them to run. You will probably find some DLC's that don't need any though (although they may be fewer and further between)

If you want to get DLC's, I suggest keeping an eye out for Steam sales which usually sees some pretty good deals on DLC's

Call me a cynic, but saying you dont have a manual, disk or cover then asking for torrents suggests to me you probably haven't even bought the game.

However, the manuals are electronic and would be located in your install. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Manuals\EN

I have the game, why would I lie about something like this? And here is a screenshot.

I brought the game as Railworks 2 with the FGW HST on the front. I put the game and installed it which took forever and then I took it out and put it in the case and put it on a pile of crap in my room which was a tip. I went downstairs and got carried away with something else then my mum went in my room and tidied it up and threw the pile of crap with my game on it in the bin.
I can't tell you how ****ed off I was but luckily it had already been installed.

I'm only asking if torrents are available for DLC

Potentially, the OP could have any of the previous retail versions of RW/TS, they are still widely available and then automatically upgrade to TS2013.

I'm still cynical though.

Because people generally do, and talking about torrents along with a complaint about the price of DLC is generally a give away sign.

Anyway, have you just bought TS2013 and didn't have TS2012 or any of the versions before? This will help to determine what you already have and will help us to help you find content.

I brought it as Railworks 2 and it just randomly upgraded itself to trainsimulator 2013 when I loaded it up.

If I was to lie about something why would I lie about having a game???? If I was to lie I'd rather say something like "Merseyrail used a HST as a replacement" which is something better to lie about.

Nobody is talking about you lying about having the game, but talking of torrents will make people question how you obtained the game. Add to this the talk of throwing away manuals and disks.

Anyway, one of your questions was about manuals and how to drive, keyboard controls etc. I gave you the answer to that above, did you look through them?

Secondly, the internet is littered with sites that give free content. I own one for a start. http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/

Ah the 86. The first train I actually had to read the manual in order to actually be able to drive the thing Very rewarding though once you've got a handle on it, probably one of my favourites.

On the old one a screen came up and it had a package manager where you could drag and drop files into it. Now it just goes straight to the game

Of course. But the newest version Requires WCML N to work and the AP Station bundle the latter being free download on steam.

As Darren said many scenarios on his website from himself and some others, many over on UKTS and on Steam Workshop What i have them on the latter two and Darren also has some on Workshop as well under the prefix DPS.

Four/five of mine are under the Workshop Pioneer programe and one is under my own screen name on steam that is the same as here.

Other free websites include european ones like Rail-sim.de and french ones as well.
