Those that need to know - KNOW!!!
Are we still allowed to pass them around between friends or is that also an infringement of copyright?

Not sure DS, but would have thought anyone distributing the files after the date of withdrawal not matter by what method would be guilty of 'breach', as they were freeware in the first place and are no longer so.

In the short term I would think the answer though is no.

I'm not sure whether it's breaking copyright laws. I'm not condoning copyright theft what so ever, but if you do pass it around, who is going to know...?

IANAL

I don't think anybody's going to have a problem with you emailing it to your mate. If you scream from the rooftops "EMAIL ME FOR THESE WITHDRAWN FILES", you might be frowned upon.

"BVE files download removal
by trainsim on Mon Oct 29, 2007 4:28 pm

This is owing to the recent retirement of the developer of those trains.. It was his wish that his work did not remain in the public domain. I must respect and abide by his instructions, so those trains have been removed from the site. I haven't had time to update the html yet, so the still links remain, but will not work.

Can we apologise for the disruption to the service at TSC. We hope the situation can be resolved somewhat over the coming months."

This is from one of the trainsimcentral website fourms!!!!

Just thought you would like to know!

Ohh also i think it wouldn't be illegal because of the reason above.
it wouldn't matter if you have already downloaded it and if you send it around so if anyone has got the A stock please send it to me!!!

Thanks

p.s. I am fourteen and i worked this out???
how comes you didn't look in the fourm?

And have you asked permission to distribute them?

with all due respect

He's not distributing them, he's helping a friend who has had them from a legal source, and who lost them in computer malfunction, restore his game to its previous installation level...

Sort of a community backup of (previously) freely available public material...

I ran into a problem today, both files together is 50.6 MB far exceeds the amount of my Yahoo Mail limit and if you wonder why don't I do it one by one well it will not work also the smallest is 12.6mb! But currently I am thinking of doing this method, upload it somewhere, and I will let it be there for 48 hours after that I will bring it down and the links will be sent by PM. Is this ok? If it is not than sorry I can't help but wait. ;)
