Just a few from me, won't usually post freight sightings here, but as they are diversions I will.
Due to a derailment at Brocklesby Junction on Tuesday morning, freight is being diverted round the 'Grimsby & Immingham Light Railway'

Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed holiday.

Thank you. I had a fab time. I wanna go back.

Such a contrast going on a scrummy Pacer this morning as opposed to the bullet train on Friday!

[FQ]

Good to have you back! How was the bullet train if you don't mind me asking?

Just to say I will be in Canada and Seattle from September the 16th to October the 23rd later this year.

[ValleyLines142]

Good to have you back! How was the bullet train if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks! It was amazing, I must admit. Unbelieveably stylish trains, with great members of staff on board and yet such a simple seating layout but it works perfectly! There are seventeen rows of seats, in 3+2 formation (ABC and DF, no idea why there's no E), none of them are in table form with the exception of Row 8 which backs onto Row 7, so effectively forming a bay of four or six. All trains face forwards (except Row 8) and there is loads of legroom between each seats! Stick them on the Cardiff to Portsmouth services to replace the cramped 158s!

Just to say I will be in Canada and Seattle from September the 16th to October the 23rd later this year.

Ooh fantastic! Will you be making any railway journeys whilst you're out there?

Thanks for answering my question. I should do the Vancouver Skytrain and the Seattle streetcar as the light rail. The heavy rail should only be Vancouver to Seattle and back but it isn't certain yet.

[Techniquest]

Looks like you've all been busy in my recent absence from the forum (I would have been on on Sunday last weekend but was busy on Borderlands 2!), fair play! 467 posts over 32 pages now, well impressed! Below are a few observations from yesterday, while picking my sister up off her trip to the Midlands:

22nd July 2014

170501+170634 1719 Birmingham New Street-Hereford, 1950 Hereford-Birmingham New Street
153334+172212 1749 Birmingham New Street-Hereford
175108 1508 Milford Haven-Manchester Piccadilly

I'll try to get online Sunday and/or Monday for a proper catch up on all the latest discussions. Gonna need about 5 hours to do that...

[adrock1976]

I saw 380110 yesterday at Partick working this service from Rutherglen to Garscadden (probably going to Yoker depot)

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/M18650/2014/07/22/advanced

It does seem unusual to see 380s north of the mighty Clyde, as they mainly work the Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Edinburgh via Carstairs, and Edinburgh - North Berwick routes.

In peace

Adam

Next time I am out on the rails is tomorrow but there will be no observations as I am doing the Gloucester and Warwickshire diesel gala.

I should be out on Thursday from Pen-y-ffordd to Buckley and back just to try and get in a couple of winner 150s and then I will be out again on the friday (hopefully as I haven't ran it through with mum yet) on a Merseyrail spin and win.
