So as you all know I was very disappointed at my severe lack of observations from my trip up north on 6th December (by contrast, 5th December in Birmingham was epic for observations!). So I'm off to Manchester tomorrow to bash some more 185s, Pendolinos and trams! Staying in MediaCity too, which looks fab! :) please follow my Twitter @DBrail123 for observations and watch this space for an epic report Saturday!

I am sure it was 013? I must of misread it. If I do see it (is it now 158 513?) I will note that.

One working from yesterday (Sunday 1st January 2016) from Chilworth station LC:

Can anyone advise me if the colas 60s are still used on the colnbrook and lindsey service?
A fellow spotter has read that the 60s arent going to be on it much longer. Has colas still got the contract?
I have not yet seen this working and hope maybe see the 60 on it one day.
Not so much trains ive seen working, more like trains ive not seen working but any help much appreciated - saves a bit of disk space compared to create a whole new thread XD

It looks like, DanTrainMan185, that you missed highlighting your outbound service from Cardiff to London Paddington, not to say it really matters! Was it you didn't get the number (there doesn't seem to be a likely service listed) then?

Some of ATW's service patterns are very odd, surely services like Cheltenham Spa to Maesteg and Hereford to Barry aren't used by many people through Cardiff?

There is only 1 Hereford to Barry per day, probably because needs the same unit so becomes a through train. Re Maesteg to Cheltenham it is the practice to keep trains going on somewhere to avoid shunting movements.

Was standing at Wimbledon Park underground station this afternoon when 455732 and 455870 came through on a charter. Wasn't expecting that!

Back with more tomorrow (at least for tomorrow) after two weeks - though can't promise less than two weeks after that - I'mwait for it to get lighter in the evenings before I go out cycling on Saturday afternoon!

I shall look forward to your contributions when they arrive :)

Not been cycling for many a year, might not be a bad idea to start again!

That unit that Melancholia reported as on Slough to Windsor and Eton Central was on it again. I saw 165 132 on the following services (ones I saw, as I was in the Eton area yesterday!)
2A62 15:42 Windsor & Eton Central to Slough
2W63 15:52 Slough to Windsor & Eton Central
2W65 16:12 Slough to Windsor & Eton Central
2A66 16:22 Windsor & Eton Central to Slough
I missed 2A64, I was right by the viaduct (on my walk) and could only hear it!
