Trains classification list?

Is there a list somewhere of all the current stock classifications so every single train type can be found even if you don't know it's classification?

If you have an Android phone there's a great app called Trainspotter. It divides every train up into Diesel Loco, DMU, Steam etc., gives current information on its depot and livery, amongst other things.

Another possible avenue is the ABRail online listings, if you aren’t aware of a DMU or EMU class number they’ll be there in numerical order, with operating TOC, livery etc.

They are in the EMU listings but individual vehicles aren't added yet it seems, presumably they'll be fully updated at some point.

Hopefully not! The last proper updates seem to have been in November mind you.

There could be any number of reasons for no recent updates of course.

There is concern that Tony Booth, Anthony Booth [AB] Rail, may not be well, or no longer able to maintain the lists. I had weekly contact with him by providing relivery details. There has been no contact since December. He was always very polite and responded promptly.

It might be prudent for someone to copy the lists to have a base framework should new lists need to be built. It is possible that the website lasts under 12 months, as Tony may have had to pay an annual fee for its upload and maintenance, and at some time could disappear completely.

I use trainlogger.co.uk. It's a website free to sign up to where you can log your own sightings and view other people's sightings as well as photos.
It includes all new stock including 745 and 755 and is updated very regularly.
