Hello all,
I am asking for advice for a friend on an issue that occurred last month.
He had purchased the wrong ticket on the Trainline app for a journey with a fare less than the journey he took in Birmingham.
He was briefly stopped at the barriers but no personal details were given.
I am wondering whether the TOC or an outsourced prosecution team could make an untargeted request for data from Trainline, for the names of all passengers on a specific train, for instance, to try and find the identity of the passenger in conjunction with CCTV.
In addition, would the aforementioned passenger have grounds to request all their data to be removed from Trainline?
Many thanks.
