Whilst I don’t use the app for purchasing tickets apart from the odd last minute mobile ticket I do use it to check some routes from time to time as it’s quite quick to operate as a stand alone app.
Unfortunately it appears that it no longer shows me the route restrictions on tickets I try to purchase. I have tried to get in touch about this but they do not feel there is any problem. This is ok when booking advances or booking specific services on the outward and return but when you book what they call an open return you clearly do not get the necessary information relating to the restrictions.
An example, I want to book a Grantham to London Terminals ticket. I don’t know what service I want to return on but upon choosing an outbound I get a variety of tickets all at different pricing and absolutely no way to know what it means. There are vtec only tickets, Hull trains only tickets and any permitted. There’s a toc restricted period return that’s cheaper than the any permitted day return. But at no point will it tell you you can only use a certain toc.
As an impartial retailer is this even allowed?
