What a ridiculous statement.they are quite likely to give you a job should you make it to interview.
You need to have a good look around what has been posted on the forum so far. There is a thread at the top section called Career as a Train Driver and also a search function you can use to find certain things.Hi guys anyone have any advice for applying? I’ve submitted my application. I really I hope I get shortlisted as I really want this jobany advice would be great
Not untrue though, drivers morale is at an all Time low and have been leaving in droves when any other Toc sticks an advert out for qualified drivers, so mock all you wish all I'm saying the OP has a pretty good chance if they make it to interview stage. What a ridiculous statement.
Thank you I spent ages on my application and wrote so much so fingers crossed just impatient lol hope I make it to the next stage. You know how hard the assessment centre is ?To be honest as long as you have standard knowledge about the company provided you get past the testing stages you will be fine, everyone is trying to leave when opportunities arise due to pay disparity with other TOCs so they are quite likely to give you a job should you make it to interview.

I willYou will be sent homework. I strongly suggest that you do it.
are they likely to take on a few people? The vacancy has been open for a year and a halfThat probably is true. Not untrue though, drivers morale is at an all Time low and have been leaving in droves when any other Toc sticks an advert out for qualified drivers,
That isn’t!so they are quite likely to give you a job should you make it to interview.
I’m not mocking. I’m saying that getting through to the DMI stage in the process doesn’t make it almost a certainty as you alluded to in your previous post.so mock all you wish all I'm saying the OP has a pretty good chance if they make it to interview stage.
Are you sure, that seems an amazingly long time for a trainee driver job to be live? The vacancy has been open for a year and a half
Yeah it’s on their website when you type it in GoogleThat probably is true.

It doesn’t matter what the staff turnover rate is, they will have quite a few (I don’t have the figures) candidates in a talent pool to choose from plus all of those that make it through this intake.
Good luck to anyone applying.

I could be wrong of course and will stand corrected.
I can’t see it.Yeah it’s on their website when you type it in Google
I saw that but it let me apply and there’s no expiry date. Normally if it’s expired it wouldn’t let me apply plus they sent an email saying the are reviewing my application"We are accepting applications up until 3rd October 2021"
Just typed in trainee train driver on Google with southeastern and that came up so applied for it. Strange but it says there’s so expiry date. I’ll call them tomorrow but it let me submit it and they emailed back saying they are now processing my applicationThere's no vacancy live when you visit the southeastern careers website directly so I'd be surprised if it's an active vacancy. But, good luck anyway!
Well done I hope I’m the same did you use the same vacancy as the link above ?HI all i also applied for that position a couple months back I've only just got an email confirmation about being successfully passing the screening process just wondering whats next?

Aw okay, it’s weird as the add is on their website from sep 2021 but says no expiry date so applied which it let me! Should be still live shouldn’t it ? Otherwise it wouldn’t let me apply surlythanks. when i applied it was via southeastern's website and it did have an expire date when i applied last year

It does say though that applications were be accepted until 3rd October 2021.Aw okay, it’s weird as the add is on their website from sep 2021 but says no expiry date so applied which it let me! Should be still live shouldn’t it ? Otherwise it wouldn’t let me apply
If you Google Southeastern trainee train driver and click on the first link which is on their website I had to register my account and complete the application. Plus on my dashboard it was expiry date: no expiry date, plus they emailed me to say they have received my application and will process it. Plus if you scroll down where it says the position and salary it does say no end dateIt does say though that applications were be accepted until 3rd October 2021.
Aren’t you just looking at a cached webpage on Google?
If you actually look at their careers portal it is not showing.
I agree that it is strange that you can still apply for it, I really hope that you’ve been lucky and they have accepted your application.
Very best of luck.
I have no idea in the email it says I will be contacted as soon as they able to continue with my application. My main thing is I’ve been accepted but I have no idea what’s to come nextSo true! Hopefully it’s fate! Will call them tomorrow just to put my mind at rest! When do you have your assessment?
Well done you have passed the first stage so that’s great! Wish you all the bestI have no idea in the email it says I will be contacted as soon as they able to continue with my application. My main thing is I’ve been accepted but I have no idea what’s to come next
4 day weeks though ♂️24 days leave including bank holidays? Is that standard across the industry? I'm not on the railways but i get 28 days plus bank holidays (does that make 36 in total?).
