In the acceptance email they said they'd give details on the next stage in due course, so I don't have to accept an invite until then as far as I'm aware. Anyone else had an acceptance email?
Plastictaffy, as you clearly know Colin, then why don't you talk about this gossip to him directly rather than post it on a board? He is just trying to help others. Surely you could "advise" him by sending him a pm.
Got my email didn't make it apparently I live out of the 25 mile zone even though I live 24 miles away (longest route) and 22.5 (shortest)
Was recently told that the 25 mile radius regulation at LM is here to stay, apparently it has less to do with fatigue monitoring and more about retaining drivers; a driver who comes in from an hour away is more likely to look to a different company.
This 'rule' does NOT exist. No agreement has been signed between LM and any trade union - don't let them tell you that is the case. RMT say there MAY be an agreement for thirty miles, but the 25 mile rule does not exist. It has not been agreed, it's just LM trying to move the goalposts. They also don't say if that is as the crow flies, or to drive in, or if that is on the train. By train I make it, as the crow flies I make it comfortably, but by road it is 28 miles.
Do they need an agreement with the RMT about it? Surely it is up to LM how they sift applications? ?
