Hello all,

I've been looking on and off at the forums for the past 6 months or so and though I'd come out of the shadows.

For a while now I've 'glass-ceiling' in my current post at one of the PTE's and back in April I submitted - and I admit it was very 11th hour in fact due to an issue with the online system it had to be reopened for a few hours - for the Trainee Senior Conductor for LM at Bletchley/Northampton. A few weeks later and by surprise I passed the sift and was invited to the test day - there were 10 of us on the day.

During the test I got the feeling that in fact I had failed on the test and went away glum and consoled that I had failed and prepared for the confirmation email - however two weeks later the email arrived and I had a passed not failed!

Fast forward to September, threes months from the test the following email arrived:

"Our resourcing requirements for 2014 and 2015 are under review and the recruitment process of our current Trainee Senior Conductor campaign has been put on hold for the foreseeable future. However, your application will be held “on hold” and will be reviewed in line with future requirements.

Once re-activated you will be asked to sit an interview with a Conductor Manager as well as complete the remaining recruitment checks including a safety critical medical, criminal records check and reference check.

Please be aware that we will not re-advertise the Trainee Senior Conductor role for the West Coast area, you sit within an applicant pool that will fulfil our future requirements for 2014/2015, therefore please be confident we will only use our current pipeline to fulfil our future needs."

Now I'm aware of alleged horror stories in regards to LM recruitment - but that's each's own experiences. In the meantime time I was prompted to apply for a similar HQ role as my current but with FCC, however I failed the interview on that - but that proved as a wakeup call to me saying that "it's time for a change".

Yes I could take my test elsewhere; but at the present time I'm pre parted to allow the LM application to continue it's course. And given by the wording in the email I like however many out of the 10 on the day placed in the talent pool.

I already know one or two LM staff through twitter, but if there's any other LM Senior Conductors established or new or even anyone in LM talent pool - please drop a line.
