Well, I really want to be a train driver. Specifically driving them. Its a completely different career change so I have no experience and so would like to be trained up etc. But I am struggling to find any train companies around my area that have vacancies - they are all for qualified drivers. To be honest, not sure where to specifically look.

Go on the Toc websites very regularly and keep checking the vacancies section because when trainee jobs come on they may only be on for a matter of hours before closing because of the amount of applications.
I havnt yet no , hoping that's because it's been the weekend . Fingers crossed .

Best thing do is go on each train company website and set up email alerts also check this website and its posted on here as well

Invites went out today. By sounds of it just because you passed stage 2 doesn't mean you will get an interview. All invites are going out this week

I've not had anything yet, but called and the lady dealing with the vacancy said not to worry, they've just started the process of sending them out so I'd get one either today or in the next couple of days.

I'd like to think that anyone with a definite "the next step will be a driver manager interview" email will have one. First are usually pretty good with their communication and will say from the outset if they can only take so many through etc.

Yeah am hoping so too but there's always that little bit of doubt haha
i still havnt even received a pass/fail email from stage 2 interview yet . Did it on Thursday, anyone else do theirs on Thursday and heard anything yet?

Was this last week you did stage 2?
I sat Stage 2 assessments on Friday 15th and still waiting to hear whether I've passed or failed. I'll let you know when I hear anything.
P.S. Thanks to all for the useful information in this thread, it's really helped with the whole application process.
Just got email saying I havnt made it to next stage. Absolutely gutted , really felt the interview went well but guess not. Does anyone know if I have to wait 6 months to apply for a trainee job with all companies or does it just apply to TPE

I rang up, I literally only failed on one area of the interview about previous roles relating to train driving , wasn't in depth enough answer I guess . Have to wait until June now, don't believe it.

I also failed the mmi, I rang them for feedback last week and was put on a list so you got yours quick! Good luck to everyone still in it too, I'll try and get in more dangerous situations ready for my next mmi haha

Does anyone know of the enchanced standard applies to the MMI ? I know it does with all the assessments but is this the case with the MMI? Cheers

The structured interview isn't enchanted pass rate. I asked the guy when doing mine

Right just been on phone again. There has been a delay in recruitment I did ask if was for manchester or all across. She did say it was for every one. Should hear back end of the month/early feb. I did mention some people have had emails stating there interview is next week. She was a little confused in why you had them so I suggest ringing up and double check
