Got a letter Friday with a Feb 3rd start date. Apart from saying its in Crewe for the first week, the letter does not give any information at all, I've got a week left to resign and I'm a bit dubious!

Just spoke to LG and I'll be joining you On the 3rd Feb too.

Letters in the post still muddled in with the Xmas mail.

But having a copy emailed over too.

Cheers, Si

And low and behold, upon arriving back home the letter has appeared having took 5 days to arrive!

Well, I suppose it's nearly Christmas and the post is chock-a-block at the moment but it's all sorted!

See you all on the 3rd February!

Hi mate,

Spoke to LG today and we will be getting contracts after Christmas before we start . Starting wage is £18,763 and after the first week we will more than likely be heading over to ferrybridge for the rest of the training .

Hope this helps

Just out of curiosity regarding new entrants,is it correct that you have no options and have to go straight onto the 13 contract cycle?

Apparently the course at Crewe finishes on the 7th and we will have our second week out with a driver so it would seem that Crewe would be free once this is finished.
Still non the wiser as to where we are going to be after the initial week.

I'm happy for ferry bridge as it's traveling distance for me

This is the new contract at HH, brought in with the new paydeal, it's 13 week cycles (455hrs) but overtime only paid at a basic rate not enhanced like the main contract.

It got brought in the other week with the pay offer. Existing HH drivers have an option either to stay on the normal contract, or move onto the 13 week split one, but I am led to believe any new starters have to go on and stay on the 13 week contract. This should probably say on your employment contract.

Thanks, could you please tell me what index it's under or the name of the topic ?

Thanks

It's in the "Train Drivers" section, the topic name is "Freightliner Intermodal Eastleigh"

Last post was in September so it's on page 4.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
just spotted another one on page3 titled "FLHH 2013 proposed pay deal".

Thanks guys,

Just read it . Makes for an interesting read !!!

So what's the latest ?

Also wanted to ask about your rotas . I know you don't get your jobs until the Friday but is that for your daily hours or your actually working days/days off ?

Again it depends on the depot mate. Some have a fixed link with fixed rest days/weeks.
At Bristol we have a 20 week link with a 5 day week and a week of rest days every 6 weeks.

Well, we'll soon see in a few weeks what the T&C's are associated with our contracts.

And I can't see many of us turning down the position even with the new conditions.

I suppose coming from Arriva XC with fixed rostering it'll be a bit of a shock to the system but with weeks of rest days (bonus), the eventual pay increase (bonus) and becoming a driver (bonus) we'll settle in to the way of work there.

Incidentally, has anyone got any information on Toton depot? Rostering, routes etc?

Cheers,

Si

The advertised Leeds trainee positions, that everyone had problems with on the website application not working - expiry date for applications was 13 Dec, has anyone even had an acknowledgement yet? I applied by letter and CV in the end (advised by their personnel dept due to site failings) Second time I have applied now, also applied when advertised about 6 months ago, never heard anything then either. Really frustrating as first time applied with Northern, passed the application, passed driver manager interview, passed all tests as far as borderline on reaction test (borderline = fail) but cant seem to even get to first hurdle with Freightliner?

Has anyone got any info from dagenham ?

Rotas so on ?

Thanks

At present there is a 13 week fixed roster at Dagenham. we have rest days throughout the 13 weeks and not a week off every six. The week off every six was offered to the exisiting drivers and was rejected as about half the depot do not work rest days
Week one is 00:00 to 08:00 time window rest day Sat, week two rest day Sun and Mon 00:00 to 08:00 time window Tues to Fri rest day Sat and so on.
There are no fixed jobs in the roster only time windows, you can be booked on any job that starts within the time window.
As regards the new 13 week contract some of the existing drivers have opted to move onto that contract, whilst some have stayed on the exisiting contract. If all the trainees pass the depot will increase to 15 drivers.

Thank you for the info .

Do you guys have any idea as to what's happening with us trainees ?

I.e how long we are up in Crewe/ferrybridge and when we'll be in the depot ?

Thanks again

The present trainees spent one week at Crewe, had a week back at the depot with the mentor driver then back to Crewe or Ferrybridge for 11 to 12 weeks they should be back at Dagenham if they pass their rules in February.
