Trainee Drivers Chiltern Railways 2016 intake

Hi,
Just trying to find out if anyone out there is in the same position as me? Having gone through the whole recruitment process with Chiltern at the back end of 2014 for this years intake of trainees. I received a letter offering me a place on the 2016 intake (which I accepted). But since accepting I have had no correspondence what so ever. If the intake was to start early in 2016 then I would have thought they would have been in touch by now.

Is there anybody in the same position as me ? Or maybe knows if the intake is happening and when?

Latest is... nothing. No decision from senior level as to whether 2016 will go ahead.

Being in the process with another company has made me conclude that the rail industry in general has no idea what their plans are and there is no-one who can give you specific information.

I can only assume this is due to management negotiations about future funding/resource levels and the influence of the unions on this.

The most common reply I've received is along the lines of "waiting for business plan review to be completed" or some such business speak.

As everyone says....you just have to sit and wait.

I'd heard the same. September being the date mentioned. Seems later than most expect, I know the lads in charge of the training school were keen to get cracking in the new year.
