Again by what others have said they won't allow you to take the test until six months after your previous test. Failure or not. Also I don't understand why you are so aggressive in your post.

I don't think it's agreesion but possibly frustration by some of the stuff put on here

Have many others not heared anything yet? I see that assessments are being conducted and many updated but I havent heared back at all. Im not expecting any positive news, but would be nice to know, just so I dont check my emails 20 times a day!

Hi Scaramanga, I am the same as you, haven't heard back as such, I did email the recruitment team twice and they said they were processing applications-perhaps there are only a couple of people doing this? I am the same as you waiting for any communication whether it be good or bad. I think the best thing is to keep applying to any other opportunities and hope Schenker come back with an answer soon and put us out of our misery!

i applied for the saltley/bescot depot and have heard neither good or bad news so im presuming their working through the applications area by area. has anyone else heard back for these depots?

Got an email inviting me to assessments next week for trainee driver at saltley/bescot.
Very shocked - thought all vacancies had gone to qualified's by now.

Down the Line!
It's good to know that DBS is appearing to take on external trainees, still some hope left for the rest of us, no matter how small it might be - good luck bob!

Thanks very much for the good luck messages - now where the hell did I put that boppit??? :D

Can any one help me out with any info regarding core traction and routes for DBS Bescot and Saltley?
What's the workload like?
Much need for lodging away?

Thanks.

Core traction - Class 66's without a doubt. Class 92 as well if your lucky.

Can't help much with the routes but they would be extremely extensive compared to TOC's.

Hi,

Quite a good location for a variety work i would of thought, coal passes through there, you got a little scrap/steel workings what's left of it, not sure now but there could be the odd car transporter, kingsbury oil terminal up the road, and Hams Hall Intermodal depot down the road, so you might end up signing through to felixstowe and other rail ports!!!

Posts on here state Water Orton is one of the best train spotting locations.

As bev states 66's main work but you may get 60's, 08's, and 67's as well.

Freightmaster might pick up on this thread and he might know more in the way of the workings round this area.

Good luck.

Righty o - I'll just grab a flask of tea and get down there then!:D

So is that because they are short staffed, no-one working rest days, incredibly busy or something else going on?

Frustration absolutely! <( I find myself feeling increasingly frustrated that some of the comments on various threads in this forum are likely to put members off and the information given is not necessarily correct. The best way to find the answer to the question is to liaise with the TOC of course. As someone who worked hard to achieve the role of trainee driver I'm a firm believer that we should do our best to encourage others on the forum to get their dream role, not dash their hopes unfoundedly! (If there is such a word :) )

I agree we should be encouraging people to try and get in there dream role but I also think it is irresponsible to give someone false hope that they could just take the tests again straight away when they will need to wait six months for the TOCs they are referring to whether they passed or failed the previous tests.

I'm led to believe that DB Schenker are still sifting through the Qualified Driver and Internal Staff applications are certain locations. If you still haven't heard anything, then there is still a chance you may be considered. Good luck

I have heard back and am on a 'reserve' list in case of drop outs, failures etc.

Email came through today stating that I would have had an assessment had I not been stuck in limbo with a 'pass at part assessment' 5 months ago with FGW.
To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. Going nowhere with FGW recruitment, but it's still screwing me over with others!

Took the assessment and passed with another lad for the buxton location one even though i went for warrington. Not had any further contact off them. The admin girl said they are changing the assessment process in sept, meaning my pass may be irrelevant if i havent started a trainee course but also means any one 'frozen out' from two assessment fails will be 'thawed out' for a fresh start!

Thank you, the only one I seem to be struggling with is the numerical one :(
