Hello. I have my assessment day on 13th July. I emailed GTR recruitment as I have already passed the group bourden and TRP1-2. I wanted to know if I needed to sit them again, have had no response. Was wondering if anyone has got a reply back from them regarding resitting these assessments.

Hope it went well for you yesterday. Did you have the MMI as well as any outstanding assessments.

My condolences. Do you still have your application in with Southeastern ?

Yes, thank god! Just hoping I hear soon from them. My thinking is current drivers at Gillingham will want to move over to the T/l jobs and free up some vacancies on S/e, then fingers crossed 3rd time lucky for me.
Really gutted though as I felt it went really well and did lots of research this time.

So sorry to hear the news, hopefully SE will work out. Just out of interest did GTR ask many questions about the company.

Yes, that was first question, I could have gone on, but they said I knew enough!

Has anyone had any clarification on what tests will be completed at the assessment if you've already passed the tests with another TOC?

@Twedds74

Sorry to hear about your outcome. There must be hundreds of applicants, extremely difficult to pass any stage. I myself am still waiting to know whether my application was successful or not. I'm not in high hopes though.

All the best and good luck anyway.

Hi all, hopefully someone may able to clarify something for me who has recently attended the assessment day at Croydon. In the email I received it stated that there was a possibility that you may have the MMI on the same day after the assessments dependant on time or if not at a later date. Is this the case for anyone who has already attended? Also I 've had conflicting reports that the DMI is now before the MMI?

I've tried to get through to GTR but to no avail so any help much appreciated as I don't want to go ill prepared on the day.

Paul hopefully this helps,

The assessment day in Croydon is a FULL day of testing - the non-computer tests are before lunch with the computer tests being after lunch. If you do not pass the morning's tests you will be told when you return from lunch and your day will be done there and then. If you pass you then finish the afternoon - where hopefully you will smash all of the computer tests too.

There isn't time to do the MMI on the day - they last between 45-60 mins per person and we didn't finish our tests until about 5pm. There were 8 of us on my assessment day although I appreciate that this might not be the same for you. People have been wrong before so I would prepare just in case, but the likelihood of you having your MMI is minimal - Hopefully others will agree.

As for the order of the MMI/DMI. I had my DMI first, it went very well to the point where I was told I had nothing to worry about and they'd be in touch. I asked them if they would be able to tell me when my MMI would be and they looked surprised. The DMs thought they were the last port of call, and probably should be really if you think about it. But everyone I have spoken to or seen commenting on threads seems to be like me, DMI first MMI later. Perhaps this is just how GTR prefer to do it now?

I hope this has helped? My assessment day was December, so fairly recent.

Best of luck.

4th of Nov last year, I did get the same confusing material about the MMI and I prepped to do it but didn't.

What can I expect in the DMI as I was told this was the most relaxed of the interviews and it was more in the form of a chat, (quoting a friend who is a driver with another toc)

It is but don't let your guard down, stay 100% professional, listen to each question and respond accordingly. They will want to know about you, why you have applied, what you know about the company and future plans, they even asked me how I would pull away in a car from a traffic light.

Thanks Dave999, what a random question to ask, I suppose it was about the safety aspect of how you do it and not being the next Hamilton.

Ha! Yes, it did take me by surprise but I think it's just to see your thought process.

My apologies Paul, I had someone else with me yesterday by the same name and I just assumed.
Good luck for tomorrow, i failed one part of the morning paper tests. The tones test. It was the easiest of all so please just make sure ur listening to exact instructions and asking if ur unsure.
No interviews tomorrow just full day off paper assesments in the morning and computer after lunch. Good luck

Just waiting for results of first part. Was you allowed to continue after failing the tones test?

Paul you will complete all of the mornings tests, where they will be marked over lunch and you'll be told on your return. If you have failed even a single test then you will not be asked to carry on.

Good luck and I hope you pass.
