Hi all – all the trainee driver vacancies seem to be down the south of the country, is it a matter of time before the north or Yorkshire recruit or is this a reflexion of how it works throughout the year?
Thanks in advance.

The south east particularly has seen a chronic shortage of drivers for some time. it also has the most services and so the most staff.

It may be that notrhern TOCs have the same shortages but they don't need as many drivers and so recruit less often. Northern seem to recruit fairly regularly but other much less so.

Is this 45 minutes by train or car ?

From your house postcode to the depot, you have to be within 45 min, when you say by train, don't forget you could be on shift to drive the first train, so you have to be able to get to work outside of public transport , except if you can walk obviously
