So after reading through the pack I have been sent I can only assume all the tests and mmi are done on the same day.
Last time the cbi and reactions was on a completely different day.
Can I ask you guys that have done the new tests if the mmi is the same 6 or so standard questions that were in the old cbi?
Such as name a time when you had to deal with a emergency etc etc?
Thanks

Heres hoping for a 'golden ticket' through my door this week then.
Getting through to the assessments is exciting enough result for me right now. :)
I have to say that wasnt as long of a wait as i predicted ... more patient than i thought! :D:D

I passed the new assessments earlier this year with another TOC and I haven't heard yet, but going from experience the people that have passed new assessments get letters quite a bit after people who haven't. Just got to hold out and hope for the best mate :)

Thinking about it, I'm guessing those who have already passed the assessments are going to have to wait for others to sit their assessments so DBS know exactly how many people they have to choose from before making any decisions. Makes sense, just going to have to be patient I suppose

So can we confirm, from those who applied for this latest batch of vacancies, have people started receiving letters saying yay or nay? From reading the last couple of pages there is only one mention of someone getting a letter and it's unclear if they are from a previous intake.

There's 2 mentions..

The Mrs just called to say ive had a letter delivered from dbs this morning asking me to attend on the 8th of September at Doncaster for the assessments.
Not gona be home till late tonight so cant have a proper look till then.

I got selected too. 9th September. So, the letters are going out now it seems.

I'm taking it they're for the most recent DBS jobs and if you didn't get one last week then that's it, no luck. Didn't get one either :|

Just a thought! When calling people forward for assessments, do they do it on the depot you are looking at working at? For instance, Peak Forest, Tyne Yard, Westbury or Bristol etc?

No idea but i doubt it. I went for Thornaby yard as it was closest looking for applicants, 1 hour away so pushing it for me. Tyne yard 20 mins away but not looking, with my current run of luck it won't need any for years.

Hi All,
Spoke to HR at DBS on Friday and the lady herself that sends out the communication. Depots that are most urgent for Trainee Drivers 2015 intake, invited applicants are receiving their letters first. Other depots that are not so urgent for Trainee Drivers 2015 intake, invited applicants will get there letters but it could be weeks or even months (but we all know this).

Cheers for the heads up, I was wondering this weekend if there was any movement..
I've put down for Thornaby.
Can anyone tell me if Tyne Yard is still under DBS?

Yes, Tyne still 'belongs' to DBS although the place is inundated with FL loco's.

I applied at Leicester depot but apparently they already have trainees going through there so I doubt they will have room for anymore short term, looks like I shall be in the queue keeping my fingers crossed a little longer!

Hi ExTankie Aaron,
I applied for Doncaster depot and I nearly applied for both Doncaster and Rotherham. By the look of things it seems like applicants in the south are starting to get letters, I have not heard anybody getting any letters yet in the north, but hey I could be totally wrong.
I will be keeping everybody updated if I hear anything from DBS and I would like to wish everybody best of luck with their DBS Trainee Driver applications 2015 intake. x

yeah sounds fair i guess, either means too many applicants or loads of spaces for trainee drivers! Odd how it seems to be a divide between north and south from what you said before that you know guys south that are getting letters and those up north have had nothing. I know somebody that knows people that work within DBSr HR through to instructors i might get him to ask about on Sunday when i see him.

Aaron, any info you get, I would be grateful if you could share it with the other applicants, but then again as the lady that I spoke at DBS said .....no news is good news.

i know for a while no news is good news as a pal found out he had a email back to say he was too old. so means if you have heard nothing back you passed the age bit haha but if the training to be from what i have heard and seen in the past in Jan 2015 then they cant leave it too late, im sitting tight until end of sept, after that id say it was too close.

Also anybody know where the training take place, i thought doncaster as its their HQ but seen people talk about toton, nottingham. a questionable commuting distance of a hour from home.

When I spoke to the lady at DBS last Friday, I did mention to her about someone getting a reply stating they were too old, her reply was they would never send out an email stating someone was too old.

I spoke to a friendly Thornaby based driver today and asked about driver vacancies at Thornaby since I applies on the last round of applications.

He informed me Thornaby are now fully staffed with the last driver just completing routes and their is no retirements for the next 12 months that he is aware of.

So if anyone applied for Thornaby (Me included) don't hold your breath for the time being.
