Trainee driver tests

Hi. I passed the tests and first interview back in January 2016 but failed the managers' interview and was wondering whether it is any advantage for applying to other train companies. Does it enable you not to have to do the tests again does anyone know? Tom

Yes mate, the test results should last 3 years but some TOC's might require a higher 'score' than you got.
I passed my assessments and mmi with Southeastern but failed manager interview. I applied at SWT and went straight in at the manager interview stage, failed again.
Applied for GTR and had to do 1 extra test that they specifically ask for, passed that and straight into managers interview.
Started training this week

Hi Thanks for getting back. When you applied for SWT and GTR did you wait for vacancies or just send your CV in? And I'm wondering the reason you gave as to why you chose southeastern instead of their TOC. Tom

As far as I'm aware most TOC's do not accept speculative cv's. You have to wait for a trainee role appears and then apply.
If you've passed the assessments you can take the results to any TOC, you are not in 'debt' to or owe any kind of loyalty to the TOC that held the assessment.
I applied for Southeastern in mid 2014 and ultimately failed early 2015 (successfully passed assessments though).
SWT applied and failed in 2016. (straight in at DMI stage as previously passed assessments)
Successful with GTR this April after applying in June last year. (previous assessments were accepted)

I noticed that you applied for three different networks. What about your residence? I mean, Southeastern's and STW's depots must be miles and miles away from one another. Did any of the TOCs make any fuss about where you lived? Or did you relocate?

Not necessarily, Waterloo, Victoria and Charing Cross are all within walking distance of each other!

I had actually moved after the first attempt and have now moved again, not relocating for the job but it turned out a good move in the end

TOC's do have a habit of moving boundary goalposts though.
GTR were going to locate me at Ashford (45 miles or 58 minutes in THERE words)
Southeastern's recent vacancies stipulated 10 miles max!
