Trainee Driver & Pay Deal

Hi, I hope I'm allowed to post this. But was just after some information. I'm currently a trainee driver amd wondered if the proposed pay deal goes through. Will it also be for trainees, as in pay inCrease and back date in pay. I've asked a few people but nobody seems to be able to clarify. Apologies if not able to post.

I start a trainee role at the end of the month and in the interview they said that the salary numbers would change if a new pay deal was agreed so I assume they will go up too.

If you're a trainee then I don't imagine you would get much back pay but I guess you would receive the difference in salary for the time you've worked.

Yes it applies to the driving grade at DfT contracted companies so if you work for one of those your wages should go up. Trainees are in the driving grade but depending on when you joined the grade your back pay will only go back to that date.

Your local reps should be able to give you a definitive answer.

You will get the back pay and pay increases as a trainee the same as any other driving grade.

GTR were also doing this until very recently. I believe the job adverts have to be checked and approved, so they were just using the older ones until the new amendments were approved.

When does the pay deal increase start from?
Most driver roles advertised from Jan would they be showing the increase or pre deal

I would assume any salary advertised now already includes the last pay deal. Of course, there will be another rise due this year, although who knows how long before that is agreed?
