I think so....or whatever the 2-weeks is (not sure if the JD one was the same as there was no date listed as a closing date and it just disappeared from the website Friday or Saturday). That’s why I’d rather they told everyone regardless....I’ll still be tempted to email them and enquire. Just in case.

Im with you mate, having to check every few hours to see if its arrived.
If come Saturday does that mean ive been unsuccessful or wait another week due to them assessing the load of applications.

They did say that if you don't hear within the 2 weeks then you've not been successful. However i'm hoping that its taking them longer than expected to sift the applications.

Just called Doncaster Hr. Sadly i **** out and didnt get put forward. 600 people applied.
Test were at reading on Monday n Tuesday.
Oh well, thats life.

How did you find the assessment? Do you know if they're doing the trainee driver assessments at the same time as Junior Driver ones?

Junior driver is essentially a depot shunt driver. Whilst the trainee will be for mainline driving.

Cheers mate I hadn't realised that DB recruited for trainee drivers too, I assumed that being a junior driver was their way into eventually becoming a mainline driver.
I've got an interview next week for a junior driver role.

It's another option for me, I'm already in a candidate pool for a trainee driver role with another company, who I'm also likely to start with in the new year.

Yeah I had a call today as well. I’m going up on the 29th to do the tests. What depot did you apply for?

Westbury.

I see from the pack they supply it states I will be sitting 'computerised tests, interview preparation exercises and multi modal interview'. Have I missed something or are the interview prep excercises where you have 30mins or so to answer/bullet point some questions (which they then go deeper in to in the MMI) or is it something different?

I didn’t know before researching the role of JD. I assumed it was there way of saying Trainee at first. It’s an advenue I’m prepared to take to get on the ladder though. Good luck with whatever you decide. To be honest, from what I’ve seen, you’re in quite a good place in that pool

They recruited for the trainee positions only very recently.

I always like to have a backup, it's a case of who provides the goods first for me now I think.

Freightliner bud, just trying to have a couple of options as it's a rare gem to get opportunity like this.

I agree it’s a good way of looking at it, however with Freightliner it’s a guaranteed trainee job (when it happens), but not necessarily the case for DB. I do think a backup is good though, I only wish I could be in your position to be able to be choosy

I must admit I'm in a very fortunate position, it's not without its long and hard road to get here though and you will get there next time too mate, I'm certain of that

Oh, wasn’t sure whether you applied a while ago at a different intake...probably missed it in this thread as there’s so many knocking about haha. If I don’t get past this sift I’m going to assume it’s a problem with my CV (which to be honest isn’t that bad....unless it just doesn’t stand out?). I will be starting another thread about this in the future possibly

My CV is nothing spectacular if I'm honest mate. I just tried my best to draw experiences related to the role and display them as acheievements. They say CV gets about 6 seconds of a person's time so it must have something to do with luck too.

That’s good to know actually. I’ve recruited people before and have seen some frankly p*ss poor CVs so would like to think mine isn’t too bad. I recently rejigged it a little to be relevant to train driving rather than police/security/customer service. I changed my personal statement to emphasise safety and rules and procedures etc. You know, all the buzz words?

And that's all you can do really mate, we can only ever do our best in anything we do. Some stuff works out and some stuff doesn't. I always like to believe it's for a reason, I turned down a job with renault formula one and regretted it, until this popped up.

I do think everything happens for a reason too. If it’s meant to be it’ll work out in the end, one way or another!
