Trainee driver - assessment day

Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone can shed some light on the driver assessment day. What's involved and also in particular if anyone has any info on the Fault finding test. I have a practice booklet with 5 questions on which I have completed. Just want to know how many questions and times in which to do it. My assessment day is 23rd August at Crewe for freightliner who I currently work for. Also if anyone knows of any sites that have example questions I can have a go at. Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi Metcalfe, there's already a thread running here on this very subject with Freightliner. Might be worth checking it out or a Mod merging the two?

In relation to your question, did you get the big RSSB document along with the other material which takes the tests in to account? I 'think' the DFFT one you mention is part of the enhanced tests, hence why OPC sent individual practice material for it? I can't be any more use unfortunately. I will say though, that from experience these tests aren't necessarily something that one can practice for due to the nature of them. It's far better to look at any practice materials as an awareness brief of what to expect on the day? Obviously practicing is beneficial if as you the documents to do it and it would be silly to disregard them, but don't get too concerned in searching for more. Also worth remembering that they will differ slightly on the day, which is stated, but just worth remembering so it's not a shock.

However, since you're already an employee, you might be of able to give a much welcomed input in to the other thread?

Hi, I didn't realise there was another thread I'll have a look for it now. Thanks for all your info, just trying to get as much as I can as it's my first assessment day. But thanks again, yes it's the OPC centre doing it, I'll be going through the big practice document every day until the test. Cheers. Karl

The DFFT on the day is more or less the same as the practice material in terms of concept. If you understand the practice one you'll be fine. It's 20 questions in 15 mins.

It's unlikely you'll manage to get through all 20 questions. Focus more on accuracy as you'll lose points for incorrect answers
