Does anyone know which is the smallest train station which sees the most amount of different units diagrammed to us that station.

For example (and I know Bradford Interchange won’t win) Bradford Interchange has four platforms with regular

Class 150
Class 155
Class 158
Class 170
Class 180
Class 195
Class 221


So seven different units for the four platforms.

Although “smallest with most” is almost impossible to pin right down, I’m going to guess the leading candidates will be on Northern.

Without checking I'm thinking Wakefield Westgate with 2 platforms may have one of the highest with 9 different classes of units (10 if you count all passenger rolling stock not just multiple units):

Class 333
Class 800
Class 801

Class 91+Mk4

If we are counting Newtonmore's entry it has a 1:5 platforms:unit types ratio, whereas Southampton Airport has 1:4.5. The most sensible way to do it, I think.

Yes, 155s and 170s are regular visitors.

155’s have one diagram from Hull to Halifax. 170’s do not have any diagrammed work but every now and again one might appear on a Hull to Halifax but very rarely.

I was also thinking that
Maybe somewhere on Southern with just 377s?

But with your wording I think Pimlico on the Victoria line wins (all of the others are interchanges)

Southampton Airport also gets 159s calling, not diagrammed but can pop up whenever Southampton FC are at home

The issue with Southern is the use of 387s with only some of the London area stations being solely 377. I would have suggested C2C but they have the handful of 720s.

The busiest national rail station (by 24/25 National Rail entries and exits) with only a single class of train would be either Canary Wharf (Elizabeth Line) for a National Rail only station or Tottenham Court Road for a shared Underground station, both of which are served by class 345.

If Transport for London is excluded it would be Liverpool Central served by class 777.

Maybe any of Surrey Quays - Dalston Junction (excluding the interchanges) then, with just 378s

I’d forgotten the EL which renders the question a bit obvious!

As above, I've checked and there are no booked 170s.

170s visit Bradford Interchange on the Halifax to Hull services.

I know this because I was on one about five weeks ago going from Hull to Halifax.

I work for them at Leeds and know that there are no booked workings for 170’s through Bradford. They might however appear on one once in a blue moon to cover for a non available 158 but nothing actually diagrammed. There is one that comes on a service from Hull on a night coupled to a 158 but the 170 gets detached at Leeds to go to Neville Hill

There is also a single daily 155 from Hull to Halifax and back. The 170 may have been covering this diagram as all are based at Hull Botanic Gardens and there are less 155 available from the new timetable. The 3-car 158 NL units are due in future to be allocated to Hull which cover the Halifax service.
