Hi all,

Getting an open return from Wokingham to Gatwick soon. Hoping to get the direct train to do so. To get the open return, it specifies that the return train must pass through Gomshall. The outgoing train I am buying the ticket for passes through Gomshall, but does not stop. Does this mean that the same route should be permitted on the way back? The route that stops here adds quite a bit of time onto the journey, and I’ll have a long onwards journey after my return so I’d like to avoid this if possible. Thanks for any help!

Doesn’t have to stop, if you buy the “via Gomshall” ticket that effectively means “via Guildford” and you have to use the same route both ways.
”Any permitted” allows via Clapham Junction or London as well, for more ££
