Hi guys, this is a question to any internal employee of TFL. I may soon be joining you guys as an RPI and I was just wondering how often do Train operator campaigns arise on Taleo? After my 6 month probation i'd absolutely love the oppertunity to put myself forward. Is this something you guys see advertised frequently?
Cheers for any info.

Previously it's been every 6-12 months, depending on business needs, but there's currently a freeze on T/Op recruitment and training due (in part) to the ongoing Night Tube dispute.

It's my understanding that as of recent campaigns it's Train operator positions have only been open for LUL candidates not just any internal candidates. I assume you have wen't for the latest recruitment of RPI's on the buses?

I haven't personally seen a restriction on Train Op recruitment saying LUL only. Quite a lot of the job interviews I attend have staff from across TFL applying - whether that's London Buses, customer services, or DLR...

Last campaign was open to any member of TfL staff who had passed their probation.

The expectation is that the next one (when it happens) will follow the same requirements, although it's possible that it will be changed to staff who have passed probation and are not on fixed-term contracts if other recent jobs (LIS for instance) are anything to go by. :(
