A train has caught fire in Hertfordshire causing travel chaos on services from a London station.
The blaze started in the engine of a King's Cross to Hull train as it passed through Stevenage.

Passengers were taken off the train and power was cut to the line. There are no reports of injuries.

There are delays on the East Coast Mainline from King's Cross and Inter City services are suspended between Stevenage and Peterborough.

The fire, which took half an hour to extinguish, started at about 1920 BST on the Hull Trains service.

Well, all I can say is Hull Trains are in BIG trouble now. There's going to be some pretty major cancellations with only 2 units available...

They're going to require 150% fleet availability.

I suspect we may see a few spot hires now as they are definately going to need extra stock.

Whoops... now how do they get hold of a spare train by tomorrow morning? Don't they have an agreement with someone?
