I think calling it "ridiculous" is a little over the top, especially considering that you were not entirely blameless in the incident.

Comparing this figure to the amounts for settlement we have seen in other similar threads, I think you have a good result here.

This came to a total of £42.50. I have no idea how they came up with this figure, seems a bit ridiculous to me but I'm just going to pay it and move on with my life. Hopefully they'll use the money to improve the rail network and not their wages.
Sadly, it will probably only cover their admin costs (£40 is the equivalent of 1/2 a days' work for someone earning £20K a year) . But paying up and moving on is definitely the thing to do. Thanks for letting us know, it's always good to find out how these cases end up.
