Train evacuation/detraining passengers?

As a train conductor would you consider de-training a train in the event of an operational incident?

Automatic Fire Bottles

On most diesel stock there is an automatic fire extinguishing system, with the discharge pipe running around the underframe with little holes in. Only ever once seen it go off, on a 156 - from the front cab at 25mph, behind us looked like we were on the Hogwarts steam engine.

Interesting - the automatic fire bottle should certainly not be going off at 25mph. It should not activate until train speed is below around 6mph, otherwise the foam will just spray out everywhere instead of actually putting out the fire as it's designed to do.

The bell & indicator only went off in the rear vehicle where the suspected electrical fault was... we never found out if there actually was a fire. Never proven but suspect it was caused by the night before going through the wash with the cab windows wide open & water on the MCBs, train went onto the depot in the middle of two other sets, cab seats were soaking at 6am.

Many modern systems aren't AFFF and are certified to work upto maximum design speeds, as is the case with the IEP for instance.
