Train conductor salary - trainee to full ???

Am very fortunate to have been offered position as trainee conductor with Greater Anglia, so know the starting salary, but unsure about when I might expect the salary to increase once training has been completed and what it might increase to. Can anyone shed any light?

Have you received a contract yet? Your pay progression should be in that. As far as I am aware you're looking at 3 months.

I have received a contract but there is no mention of pay progression, just 4 months training, 6 months probation....

Usually your pay would increase after training has completed, in your case 4 months. Strange that pay isn't mentioned in your offer letter. Hopefully there are some other GA Conductors around here can help you better than I can.

Usually you go on to your full rate as soon as you have completed your routes and are productive, that's out there on your own doing the job.

Which depot are you going to be based at, Colchester Clacton and Wickford depots are on different t&c to Ipswich and Norwich.

It does vary a lot between companies mind - at mine it was 6 months from the day we started training (so somewhere between 2 and 3 months from passing out and working solo, depending on the amount of route learning you have to do), but at London Midland and the Senior Conductor side of Crosscountry I believe it's 12 months? But like others have said, it should be on your contract.

Well normally you will do your medical and once that's done, you will receive your contract will all those details. I am guessing that will be fairly soon. When do you start?
