Stations with the Ditra system as being described above are pretty much all SWT, Southern, and FCC (GN side) managed stations.

FGW stations that were managed by FGW when Thames Trains and Wessex were about have the system too, with some more recently gaining it (Oxford and Slough spring to mind).

London Victoria, Birmingham New Street, and a few Northern managed stations still have Phil's voice too. Cambridge might still use Celia if she hasn't been replaced yet!

Phil also voices the Funkwerk system as used on FCC (TL side) and some other Northern stations, although as I've stated elsewhere the system is awful compared to Ditra.

Louis has got plenty of announcements in his videos on YouTube and said above where else he has uploaded recordings to ;)

Might I ask what you record them on; is it a camera?

PS If you have MSN, can you PM me your address (that's if you want to talk to me  )

These are great! Cheers for the link.

But why do they say "*Station name*. This is *station name*"? I highly doubt passengers forget what station they are in.

I've always assumed it is for people on the train to know where they are.

A few problems with this: sometimes announcements start before the train has stopped (or even entered the station); and most of the time you can't hear them on board!

SWT evidently did some thinking when they stopped the standing announcements from saying it. Which is a bit of a shame from my perspective, as despite being annoying, it is much harder to hear the down (end of sentence) version of stations!

Don't you lot get on train announcements that tell you what station you're at/approaching etc?

All SWT stock have the facility (minus the Lymington CIGs), but there is a lot of stock used by other operators that don't have automated announcements on board (only really the new build do to comply with disability regulations - although many are having it fitted retrospectively).

As with all systems, though, these can fail and you can't rely on the guard making announcements at every station! (Well I'm sure that's the logic anyways).

thats my fave bit!!! My mate was filming his HST arriving at Didcot parkway, nd sure enough "Didcot parkway this is didcot parkway" could be heard as he pulled into the platform! I know small things please small minds!

I've noticed that on 67TS the automated announcements say to let passengers out of the train first before getting on when you are on the train coming into a station. It's relevant only to the passengers on the platform. :s

God, I HATE it when people decide to jump on before letting me get off first! :@

With respect, your constant posting of a request, not only in this thread but elsewhere on the forum, is starting to get annoying now and what you are posting here could be seen as rubbish liable to get deleted.

If people have links to share with you they will post them here without you keep pestering them!
