I don't know if anyone has posted this, but the new TRACKMAPS (formerly Quail Maps) edition for the Midlands and North West is now out.

It's bang up to date, the Nottingham changes are there, and Manchester - Newton electrification is shown as complete (which i presume it soon will be)

My copy arrived a couple of days ago. I've emailed them with some corrections, mostly about the Metrolink pages:

1. Inside front cover: ELR Bury to Rawtenstall wrongly shown as
electrified (is correct on Manchester inset and on page 47C).

2. Map 27B: The little bit of the Chorley line shown here should
strictly speaking be shaded in purple to denote electrification
by 2016.

3. Map 36D: Britannia Bridge is described as tubular. Has not been
tubular since reconstruction in early 1970s following 1970 fire.
A note that the A55 is carried on the upper deck might be added.

4. Map 45A: Guide Bridge to Stalybridge is not shown as due for
electrification but other sources suggest it will be electrified
on the same timescale as Manchester Victoria to Stalybridge, by 2016.

5. Map 47A and Map 50L: I believe there is no complete physical
connection, whether or not locked closed, between Network Rail
and Metrolink at the east end of the Rochdale flyover.

6. Map 50L: The viaduct shown south of Derker no longer exists.
It used to cross the A62 but was demolished as part of conversion
from heavy rail to Metrolink. Metrolink crosses the A62 on the level.
Of course, this is on a line which you will be removing from the
map once the Oldham town centre line opens.

7. Map 50L: Not mentioned that Woodlands Road stop has been
authorised for closure, expected to take effect when Queens Road
stop opens.

8. Map 50R: Trailing crossover omitted east of triangular junction
between Eccles line and Media City spur. If the layout was as shown,
trams from Media City to central Manchester would not be able to
gain the inbound track until they had gone through two stops on the
wrong line.

9. Map 50R: The junction between the Didsbury and airport lines,
south-east of St Werburgh's Road, is named as Hugh End Junction.
I didn't previously know the name of this junction, but Hugh End
is undoubtedly a typo for Hough End.

10. Map 50R: Unless there has been an unadvertised change of plan,
Barlow Moor stop should be Barlow Moor Road.

11. Map 50R: Roundthorne stop should be Roundthorn without an E.

12. Map 50R: The airport line goes over, not under, the M56.

13. Map 50R: Approaching the airport terminus, the airport line
will go under Ringway Road West in an underpass which I estimate
to be almost 100m long. This seems worthy of showing as a
tunnel but it is not shown.

14. Map 50R: At the airport stop, Trackmaps agrees with
Metrolink's published plans in showing one platform line and a
siding, but differs in showing a pair of crossovers. The only
plan I have seen that is published by Metrolink shows only a
facing crossover; it is at this link:

http://www.metrolink.co.uk/futuremetrolink/Documents/manchester-airport.pdf

However it is perfectly possible that you have more recent
information than that map.

I've sent in two further corrections: Eccles up goods loop should be shown as electrified, and Newhay (Metrolink) should be Newhey.

He's emailed me acknowledging this and my earlier email. He says he's snowed under servicing orders but will investigate when he gets a chance.

Yes. They include near enough full detail of non-passenger lines (e.g. depots, freight sidings and power station roads etc) and also give info like platform numbers and lengths, line designations, signal boxes (and the areas they control) and all viaducts / tunnels.
