Track work, where to start?

Currently i'm a broadcast engineer dealing with all sorts of technical queries, and fixing equipment, wiring Data centers etc,
but would like to move over to working on the railways in some capacity,
due to the way i have progressed in my career I have never taken any formal further education but do have around 10 years of technical experience.

Where can i look to start, i would love to work in the Signal technician world, but equally would be happy wherever.

anybody got any pointers, or people i could talk to about getting a foot in the door.

im based in Kent(Work is in Chelmsford) so im not worried about travel.

You'd need to have a pts ticket before you are able to go on the track!

I know i needed the PTS, and have some understanding of the roles, however its knowing how to get the PTS, is it something that can be paid for personally, as i thought you could only get one if you are sponsored?

That is correct you must have a main sponsor for your PTS otherwise it can't be registered on Sentinel.

My track competencies died the day my then employer (Sonsor) went into Administration as they were classed as no longer a Sponsor so all registered staff competencies immediately expired.

I would say best option is Network Rail careers website.
The "Agency" route is pretty hit or miss and likely be Zero hours!
