17:46 Journey Check says it's happened again, update in the next hour. I guess there's lots of head scratching and frustration amongst S&T personnel. Irritation and resignation with passengers and frustration, inconvenience and additional workload for train crew and control staff

Yep. Delays of up to 40 minutes until end of service. The 17.30 Waterloo to Portsmouth was the first train to be diverted. As was the 18.00 and, 18.30 and 19.00. I tied to find our about the 19.30 but every time I click into it, it causes National Rail Enquiries App to crash.

No diversions north that I can see or any further south. Maybe no drivers this evening who sign the diversion route or the diversion route less suitable at this tine.

At the moment there are four different disruption notices applying to Woking.

That must be keeping control busy tonight!

I'm not sure exactly as I booked off and went on holiday shortly before it was fixed, but I believed it was a cascading voltage issue; not helped by squashed insulating block joints owing to the heat. It was complex and difficult to locate, perhaps a little less complex than it ended up being, but there we are.
Thanks for that. I find it interesting.
