HI everybody iam looking to update my track diagrams of kent and sussex can anyone tell me were i can get hold of up todate one or ones on a cd rom any help please thanks:neutral::neutral::neutral::neutral:

It's pretty confidential stuff I believe. Quail maps are pretty good sources though.

Also last updated (for the area in question) in 2002....so 6 years Out of Date at least. Probably 7 when production time is taken into account.

Are stock diagrams confidential as well? You can work out unit diagrams by yourself to an extent, hence 'thejunction' but there doesn't seem to be any official stock diagram data on Network Rail or TOC websites.

I guess the TOCs will argue that diagrams are not always adhered to, and not 'public info', because other than trying to spot a specific unit they are of little use. And the effort of putting them online, updating them and answering the hundreds of emails about why a diagram was not followed etc....

The M-F for FSR are on the wiki at scot-rail.co.uk. Weekends depends on maintenance backlogs etc.

This is a good source of information, but I'm guessing the original poster is looking for more specific local track plans as opposed to just a rail atlas.

Yes, they are generally marked on the cover as "Private and not for publication" same wording is normally used on the WTTs as well

Be aware though, that Quail maps do have errors in them....

Some track layouts have errors in, mainly due to the size of the diagram. Bristol Parkway is one that springs to mind.

Click more, go to select and area and then keep zooming in. You will get very detailed track plans, signal boxes, sidings and the lot! I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it looks good.

Yup council planning departments use Ordnance Survey's super map (which is a digital representation of the entire country at 1:1) and you can access it one way or another on the internet. It's okay when it comes to the railways - though it is a little out-of-date in places. Very accurate and detailed though.

Some of the maps at bus stops in London seem to have an unnecessary amount of detail for the railways if there are any in the vicinity. The bus stops outside London Bridge spring to mind, they show where all the pointwork is and it looks fairly accurate.

Of course, it doesn't have Scotland and I am unaware of any similar Scottish websites.

Planning portal doesn't seem to have it for some reason.
