Just got my feedback. It was the group bourdon that failed me!! And that was the one part I thought I had properly nailed! Passed all the other elements though. Quite a fast response too as I only asked yesterday. I thought it would take weeks. Good luck to all those progressing.

Bad news for me sadly I wasn't successful, had my assessment on Thursday 3rd April. I'm looking to get the opinions of everyone in this thread for this question and for anybody who may have had a similar experience in the past.
I was only given 6 days' notice for the assessment day, and the email stated that standard practice is to give "at least" 7 days. Presumably this is to give you enough time to prepare for the assessments.
Firstly I was only given 6 days to prepare (we were able to declare this on a form at the start of the assessments), however on top of this, due to several things I had planned which I really couldn't avoid, I feel like I was severely under prepared for the assessment and that this could have contributed to me not passing on the day.
I know that you are only allowed to fail twice in psychometric assessments for a Train Driver role, and I don't really think it's fair that on this occasion I have to accept this as 1 of my two permitted failures.
Does anybody think it's worth sending an email/contacting Transpennine HR to query this? Would really appreciate people's opinions and anybody who has had a similar experience. Just gutted that this counts against me when I could have done better with more prep!

I very much doubt that it'll give you much of a different outcome to contact them regarding it apart from maybe changing the way things happen for the next time and maybe getting feedback as to why you were unsuccessful unless you got that already. Did you agree on the initial forms that you'd had enough time to prepare and read through? The last time I took the assessments I had no practice material given to me before had so had no idea what to expect. This time it was done differently. I am of the opinion that regardless of what you say in regards to the outcome, it won't change things. Also standard practice of at least 7 days gives them that bit of leeway as it's not really guaranteed for the 7 days.

I sat the Tuesday test in Blackpool & there was at least 1 person who didn't take the tests as he hadn't had the practice material long enough. Of course, that is of no good to you, when you've now lost a life so to speak for psycometric testing.
As for contacting Transpennine HR, I personally wouldn't bother. I very much doubt that it'd make any difference & at the end of the day you could've declined to sit the test when you filled in your registration form.
One thought that you might want to look into, you've still got the practice material so why not keep on with that & in 6 months look into doing the test privately at DB Schenker in Doncaster.

Can any one help me please? I have my stage two assessment and MMI structured interview next week and as some of you on this thread have already had one and passed, could any of you explain what actual happens and what is needed for you to get a pass. For example is there any specific things you need to include in your responses to the question they ask? and what are the questions likely to be?
Hi, I had my assessment on thursday the 3rd of April in york but have not yet heard anything back. I tried phoning FTPE today to find out and make sure I hadnt missed anything but was informed "If you havn't had an email then theres no news". DMCtoon; how did you hear that you were not successful?
Has anyone else who sat the test when I did heard anything???

I sat York on the Thursday morning and STILL haven't heard anything..
I rang up, too and had a similar response. At least there's two of us, makes me feel slightly relieved tbh...

I don't know if anyone else picked up on it but the assessor seemed quite stressed at York on Thursday morning. I wonder if they are short-staffed..
Does anyone have any contact info in order to get feedback? Failed assessment 2 at the MMI stage. Got email saying thanks but no thanks, but there's no info on who to contact regarding feedback.

I replied to the 'Thanks but...' email. They responded quickly to say it has been passed on etc. but can take 3 weeks for a response. They actually replied in under 24 hours with all the info I needed. I guess yours may take longer but its good to know your strengths and weaknesses.

No, you do not get told the outcome of the MMI on the day, I was told I would hear within 5 working days and I actually heard the next day. FTPE HR have been fantastic throughout.

Yeah, did stage 2 one day last week. Received email the next day. Good luck to those that are doing stage 2 this week.

Just out of curiosity, did you fail stage 2?
Unfortunately for me it was stage 1 I failed. Passed all parts except Group Bourdon - well 'didn't reach to desired grade' as they put it. Still, I had a night out in Blackpool prior to the assessment on the 1st April!
1st April AM was my testing also, one thing I find odd, in my rejection email after stage 2 assessment it says that although I didn't pass, they'd like to hear from me again. Wonder if that's a polite but generic email, or if I actually got close to the pass marks for them. Until I can get feedback though, I'm positive it was the MMI that failed me... 70 minutes of hell!!! :cry:

Hi everyone, long time lurker first time posting. Just a quick question for everyone but more so people who have applied for Manchester. I had an email on 14th March saying I had passed the phone interview and they would be in touch shortly to arrange assessments, but STILL not heard anything! anyone else in the same situation? or as I fear have I been over-looked?

Couple of my friends had the same message, one rang up to enquire and was told it'll be as and when so to speak.
