PPE at TPE may include Tracking Device (often found on a Porsche), Ball & Chain, Uniform with pink emblem (simlar to a certain 'german WW2 logo') and Borg Implants.

A very comprehensive list they've written out but a couple of points stand out to me. A Guard wouldn't need or be issued with a master key and I don't know a single member of MU train crew that carries Not to go labels or a padlock! Is the first aid kit really issued as a personal item to TPE Guards? All my TOCs trains have one in the emergency locker.

Working timetables are also no longer issued to train crew.

I was tempted a year or so back, so glad I didn't even get passed the appication stage, sure there may be stops every 10-20 mins and have new trains, however Farcegroup are on your back every 2 minutes and some of the shifts are really bad, I'll stop with Northern thx.

I've just applied for both the Manchester Picc and MIA jobs.

I'm not particularly bothered about working for pushy bosses etc, I'm pretty certain I'm working for a worse one now than anybody First can throw at me!

Is it just me or is their careers site a bit awkward/user unfriendly?
Timing out after 120mins not being able to look at the whole app form etc?
I've applied a couple of times in the past & had applications knocked back straight away despite fulfilling the criteria, in terms of railway experience.
(IMHO).
but admittedly bullet pointing my skills expereicen & not being a PC whizz probably didnt help!?

I admit I don't share the same rampant dislike of First Group that others do, but at the same time I certainly don't toe the company line religiously. Any employer has its good and bad points - I have observed these in my career. I recognise that First Group isn't perfect, but nor is it - in my opinion - quite as bad as some make out. I can assure you from my experience it isn't as bad as some. Obviously others will have differing opinions and that is to be expected as everyone has differing experiences.
