Thanks for the update.Guard instructors are now on the Mk5A course so here’s hoping the airport based guards will start shortly. They will be the first ones to work the trains.

What about drivers?
Picc instructors to start their course in a week or so and drivers at Picc to follow from end of August I believe.
37800 + 6 barriers worked down from Leicester to Portbury today; I suspect a delivery of either a 397 or a Mk5a set is due tomorrow.
The SO diagram that was posted a bit back for Longsight-York then Scarborough shuttles now shows a unit coming off Ardwick. So that’s that one knocked on the head!Thank you. Not likely to see any regular services until October time at the earliest then.
Yep, that's the one. Suspect the masses will be out for that!
Commences this Saturday. The SO diagram that was posted a bit back for Longsight-York then Scarborough shuttles now shows a unit coming off Ardwick. So that’s that one knocked on the head!
So wait - 68s & Mk5A's in service on Saturdays between York & Scarbados?Commences this Saturday.
Wasn’t expecting it to be 68sCommences this Saturday.
Very Happy to stand corrected and thank you for the info
Maybe my post wasn’t very clear and when I said ‘So that’s that one knocked on the head’, perhaps I should have added ‘as regards Nova 3’.So wait - 68s & Mk5A's in service on Saturdays between York & Scarbados?
but not necessarily with Class 68s and Mk5a.
Many thanks for that. I think there have been some crossed wires, including my ownIt absolutely wont be a 68 and Mk5's it'll be a 185.
I haven't seen any new plans, TP11 should hopefully get handed over next week as wellAre any TPE Mk5a sets still going into warm storage at Longtown or somewhere or has that idea been scrapped and to now get the sets passed out for training? Thanks andy
Thank you, as always, for the info. That’s all very positive indeedI haven't seen any new plans, TP11 should hopefully get handed over next week as well

Saw a pic of 47830 attached to the sets.
Sounds like there is some sort of issue with the MOD accepting them according to a FL sourceDoes look like there trying to get them two sets into warm storage as planned but for some reason, maybe problems at Longtown, they can't!!

I heard a member of staff say 'End of the year' for the introduction of new trains this morning.
I hope that was an overly pessimistic estimate.
Why's that? They won't really be going anywhere else in practice...The 397 look to be running a lot up the WCML, that’s a little disappointing
A couple of 68/Mk5's should be in some sort of service September/October.
802's toward the end of the year and 397's start of next year I think.
