It's fairly common for some Blackpool-Manchester services in the late evening and early morning to go via Wigan NW and either Walkden or Eccles; but I'd have thought via Crewe would be too significant of a time penalty.Doesn't the 03:37 Blackpool North to Manc Airport sometimes go via Wigan NW/Crewe instead of the usual Bolton route? Although now its operated by Northern and not TPE.
Yes, often runs via Wigan but doesn't stop as the station's not open that early. Not via Crewe, as said it's way too far. First timetabled Manchester bound service calling at Wigan NW is the 0624 TPE which runs from Preston.Doesn't the 03:37 Blackpool North to Manc Airport sometimes go via Wigan NW/Crewe instead of the usual Bolton route?
